HELD ON THE FIRST THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH!
Location-specific accessibility information located at the bottom of the page.
By connecting LGBTQ+ and social justice focused health care professionals and students, we aim to create an inclusive community that supports providers in the work they do. Let’s share experiences, discuss opportunities for pursuing social justice within the health care field, and explore strategies for increasing queer and trans representation and services.
Please bring a dish to share! We ask that you provide the ingredient list for your contribution.
Gender Competency for Birth Professionals is a community workshop geared towards birth workers, but is opened to anyone interested in partaking in a discussion about gender in pregnancy, lactation, postpartum, and parenting.
Our conversations will be centered around deconstructing the gendered terminology we use in practice that could alienate clients, families, and community members. Throughout our discussion, we will also be talking about how the lack of access for trans and genderqueer/gender nonbinary individuals negatively effects health outcomes. The presentation and expert panel will focus on practice with inclusive language.
