Gender Competency for Pregnancy Professionals

Gender Competency for Birth Professionals is a community workshop geared towards birth workers, but is opened to anyone interested in partaking in a discussion about gender in pregnancy, lactation, postpartum, and parenting.

Our conversations will be centered around deconstructing the gendered terminology we use in practice that could alienate clients, families, and community members. Throughout our discussion, we will also be talking about how the lack of access for trans and genderqueer/gender nonbinary individuals negatively effects health outcomes. The presentation and expert panel will focus on practice with inclusive language.

Presented by Candace Martin (she/her)
